      TS-0003 Interesting Needlework Greek-type Border.  English late 19th Century.

Size:   90" L x 6.5" W (approx.)

    TS-0004 Sampler by Sara Ann Hopkins.  English dated 1827.  With a wonderful verse: "Tell me ye knowing discerning few where I may find a friend both firm and true who dare stand by me w hen in deep distress and then his loving kindness most express."

Size: 16 6/8" square

  TS-0005 Unusual Sampler depicting a Bee Hive by Elizabeth Swall.  Born December 1832 dated 1846.  English.

Size:  20" H x  20" W

 
  TS-0006 A very unusual Sampler by Ann Dowson age 12 years dated 1808.  With Adam and Eve, birds, angels, deer, swans, dragons, and much more.  Also an interesting biblical story portrayed at the bottom.   English.

With the verse: "Kind angels watch the sleep in dust till Jesus come to rise the just, then may we wake with sweet surprise and in [h]is saviour image rise."

      TS-0007 Rare and superb mourning Miniature Sampler. "Farewell dear" with a nice house flanking by two urns and trees.  Early 19th Century.

Size:  8 1/4" H x 8 3/4" W

    TS-0008 Silk picture.  Embroidered and painted on silk signed by M. Thin...  portraying a lady with an anchor and shield with a masked ship in the distance.  English c. 1800.

Condition:  Small tear in the [silk] sky.

      TS-0014 A fine silk embroidery of a hanging fruit basket.  English c. 1790.

    TS-0015 Hooked mat.  "Label on back reads, "Bute Arran, Baddack, N. S. Canada" (Nova Scotia). Canadian c 1930.

  TS-0016 Nice and friendly sampler with Adam & Eve and the verse, "Behold a Stranger at the door. He gently knocks has knocked before. Has waited long is waiting still. You use no other friend is ill".  Early 19th Century.

  TS-0039 A petit-point needlework of "Saturday" child. It's a needlework showing a child working on Saturday to make ends meet in a lovely old wooden frame. "Saturday's child works hard for a living".  English c. 1870.
